Oh, I see you’re here to learn about my side projects. Maybe delve a little deeper into me as a person and see how I carry my workplace creativity into my after-work hours. Welcome!

Since I was a teenager, my biggest creative outlet was cooking. I loved to experiment with textures and flavors and (hopefully) end up with something that tastes amazing. Then when I got into advertising, I felt like I needed to commodify my passion. To make it into a side hustle, something tangible and consumable for others. I even made a clever little Instagram account to share my recipes. It felt good to have something to point at to say, “look, I’m so fun and creative and hire-able!” And suddenly— I didn’t love cooking anymore. The pressure to document everything, to make it pretty and clever, took all the fun out of it.

So, now I’ve thrown out all my self-imposed deliverables and I love to cook again! After a stressful day of work, I love to come home and dream up some elaborate meal. It helps me keep my brain (and body) refreshed to do what I do really well. But unfortunately I don’t have any proof of that, so you’re just going to have to believe me :)

Other stuff:

I am a traveler, baker, gardener, food lover, cat cuddler, soccer player, occasional hiker, and avid reader. And I just really, really, really love what I do. I’m one of the lucky ones who found a career doing what I’m passionate about.
